How are we going to do this?
The PNCIMA initiative will follow a series of steps to achieve its outputs. These steps will help us to collaboratively reach our goal of developing recommendations for an integrated management plan.
- Develop a collaborative process
- Assemble and analyze information to inform planning
- Establish goals, objectives, and indicators
- Develop strategies to achieve objectives
- Review of, and integration with, other existing plans
- Develop and evaluate scenarios
- Develop draft plan(s) along with implementation and monitoring strategies.
This step-wise approach recognizes that integrated management will require ongoing review and refinement as it is implemented. As issues arise over time and lessons are learned from initial work, the process structures can respond to ensure the integrated management plan is regularly adapted to reflect changing conditions.
The work done to date for the PNCIMA initiative has focused on the first two steps.
How will PNCIMA link to existing work?
The PNCIMA initiative will need to coordinate with other relevant initiatives. We are currently exploring ways to coordinate with other planning processes and initiatives. See related work.
